Just a few Notes

Before anyone uses the 3D printers independently, everyone is invited to come along to a short course. The mini-course introduces users to the technology and the time and cost of using these technologies. The maximum number of users allowed at the same time in the Lab is 10.

The Machines

In workstation wst-07, you can find the first machine is a 3D printer and CNC milling machine, the company that built it is WASP and its model is PowerWASP EVO EVO.

The working volume of the 3D printer is 260 x 195 x (h) 190 mm, while the working area of the CNC milling machine is 260 x 195 mm.

The print resolution is 0.05 mm, while the maximum print speed is 200 mm/s.

In the workstation wst-08 we can find the second machine is a 3D printer, the company that built it is WASP and the model DeltaWASP 20×40.

The volume of work has a diameter of 200 mm for a height of 400 millimeters.

The print resolution is 0.05 mm, while the maximum print speed is 300 mm/s.

In the workstation wst-09 we can find the third machine that is a plotter electronic cutting vinyl, the company Silhouette, Portrait model.

The working width is 20 cm, for a maximum length of 3 meters (using the vinyl roll).

In workstation wst-10 is the fourth machine is a CNC milling machine, 3D printer, 3D scanner, the company Fabtotum, Fabtotum model (red).

At wst-06 / wst-07 vi have many tools both mechanical and electric, to dismount and put together many different objects.

The software

To draw a 3D object, we make available two open source software SketchUp andCura. Of course, users can draw with their own tools compatible with the 3D printer file format.

The website

We believe that the website is very important, as we want to share our ideas and experience with as many people as possible. We put it in the Tools section as we believe that it is a tool of information sharing.

The general idea of the website is communicated at the header of every page, with an image of one of the first projects (which was a structure made to Protection for propellers drone) we printed with our 3D printers.

Here, you can see all assets of our makerspace: the 3D printer, a human being, a printed object (a drone’s propeller) and the invisible software underlying the 3D printer.

Our motto is  “learning by doing” from the great pedagogue John Dewey and “from idea to working prototype”, which was humbly invented by us.
